Not too long ago I wrote to Opera Atelier to express my appreciation of their most recent production and they shared my note with their subscriber list! This past week, Zack, our Audience Services expert, received a truly beautiful email from one of our patrons who was able to come to Acis & Galatea. I wanted to share this passionate, warm story with you.
“I had the great good fortune to attend Opera Atelier’s most recent production of Acis and Galatea. First of all let me say that I have been aware of Opera Atelier since its beginnings.
I was there at the ROM when Marshall and Jeanette danced for the first time, with a boombox plugged into the wall! And I know it’s a rare privilege to have baroque opera and dance of such calibre in our city.
How amazing that at last I was able to see my favourite opera of all time, performed live on stage, using beautiful costumes, dance, sets, and stagecraft appropriate to the 18th century, not to mention sublime performances! And Opera Atelier delivered the best, most magical treatment of Acis’s transformation into a fountain ever. Subtle, elegant and so perfectly executed.
Thank you to Opera Atelier, for the world of beauty you have so consistently brought to life. In these times, your creativity and contributions are needed more than ever!”
